solutions & services group (ssg) is a newly set up business unit within lenovo to drive the company’s transformation by delivering incremental business across product-related services, managed services, cloud services, smart vertical solutions, and ‘a(chǎn)s a service offerings’ including daas (device as a service) and truscale?.
technology & solutions delivery (tsd) is the global delivery platform of ssg. this team’s mission is to deliver to our customers great technology and business outcomes via services using the best technology and capabilities in the industry.
the chief of staff will be a member of the tsd leadership team, reporting directly to art hu, global cio, and the chief technology and delivery officer (cdto) for ssg.
the chief of staff role is a highly strategic and facilitative position that requires a combination of focus and flexibility, as well as willingness to play an active, strategic, and communicative role. the ideal candidate will possess a professional demeanor, excellent communication, and organizational skills with the ability to work on a wide range of tasks and strategic initiatives. the role will operate as a key component in our management team effectiveness by contributing on strategy formation and enabling the executive team to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
roles & responsibilities
? support chief technology and delivery officer (cdto) in setting and executing the overall strategy
? define and run the business management system (bms), including the management of senior leadership meetings, staff meetings, business performance management processes and internal communications to drive strategic alignment, execution against objectives and kpis
? prepare critical activities needing structured presentations (senior management presentations, external media, event, and analyst interactions, leadership team alignment)
? help identify, prioritize, and lead key cross-functional projects with the leadership team to build capability and advance transformation objectives; serve as a connector among executive and senior executives to ensure information flow to make decisions and achieve goals
? increase effectiveness of information sharing and decision-making more effective across the tsd leadership team and organization as a whole
position requirements
? business acumen from 7+ years of experiences working in the technology industry (solutions & services preferred, especially in digital workplace/service desk, hybrid cloud, or other managed / project-based it services delivery)
? strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to synthesize data from multiple sources, derive conclusions, and create structured communications on complex issues
? demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships and bring influence others
? flexibility to handle and embrace change; high discretion to work with senior executives on sensitive business and personnel topics
? business travel is required – estimated at 25-35%
nice-to-have
? mandarin chinese bi-literacy/bi-lingual a strong plus
? consulting experience and background
? mba or masters degree in computer science or technology-related field
