focusing on the research frontiers of environmental microbiome and environmental biotechnology, exploring relevant new theories, new methods and new technologies, taking natural and artificial microbial ecosystems as the research object, studying the interaction between microbial populations, and establishing new theories and technical systems to develop basic research on environmental microbiome and practical application of environmental biotechnology.

環(huán)境與能源學(xué)院組建于2009年。學(xué)院的辦學(xué)宗旨是：建立環(huán)境與可再生能源前沿學(xué)科，樹立低碳科研教學(xué)典范，培養(yǎng)有能力解決環(huán)境與能源問題的精英人才，研究城鎮(zhèn)化背景下大氣環(huán)境、水環(huán)境和生態(tài)問題，開展環(huán)境友好型、引領(lǐng)產(chǎn)業(yè)發(fā)展的可再生能源技術(shù)研發(fā)，促進(jìn)人類社會(huì)環(huán)境和能源的可持續(xù)發(fā)展。
